Ban on Vijay's Thuppakki

The court has passed an interim ban on the makers of Thuppakki from releasing their film until July 16th. The order was passed after a petition was filed by Ravi Devan, the director of another upcoming film Kalla Thuppakki. Ravi had registered the title in 2009, even before AR Murugadoss did. In his petition, Ravi said that there are possibilities of audience getting confused with the two films, for both have similar titles.

Though the court hasn’t made a judgment on the case, they have ordered S Thanu, the producer of Thuppakki, to come out with a clarification from their side. Till then, Thuppakki cannot be used as a title for their film.
